We hope you are never involved in a driving mishap, but in the event that you or one of your family members are, here are some simple tips that may guide you through the process:

  1. ALWAYS remain calm, and remain with the vehicle at the scene of the accident

  2. Regardless of damage estimates, the police should always be called, in order to avoid any legal or reporting issues later. If anyone is injured, call 911 for ambulance assistance immediately.

  3. Get as much information from the other driver(s) as possible, name, address, contact information, insurance information, year/make/model of vehicle, etc. Do not attempt or admit to fault or blame, let the police be the ones to determine that, if necessary.

  4. Contact your insurance company or broker for advice and consultation regarding a claim for repairs. BE AWARE THAT YOU DO HAVE THE RIGHT TO DIRECT WHERE YOU WOULD LIKE YOUR VEHICLE REPAIRED, AND NOT WHERE YOU MAY BE TOLD TO TAKE IT.

  5. If you ever have any questions or concerns about your vehicle and accident damage, contact our collision centre staff at (905) 383-7700 or at collision@baykingmotors.com
